Travel to Georgia, Pennsylvania, and California:
This week marks the start of a 23 day trip that takes Encuentro Ministries, God willing, to Georgia, Pennsylvania, and California. We will be taking part in a spiritual retreat, getting training that will allow EM to do a better job as a consultants for Hispanic churches, preaching in several Anglo as well as Hispanic churches, carrying out an evangelistic revival, and visiting various pastors and leaders in need of pastoral care. During the course of this time, in a special way we need your prayers for protection, provision, power from above, and God's care for our family. Can we count on your prayers on our behalf?
Pastoral Family and Ministry Appreciation
Did you know that October has been designated as a special time to say thanks to our pastors and their families? Take advantage of this particular time to appreciate your pastor and the pastoral family: send cards, give/make a surprise, share meals ... be creative! They take care of us, but who will take care of them?

Washington DC and Maryland visits last week
We spent most of last week at the ABCUSA biennial. Getting ready was quite a race, but we made it with God's help! Encuentro Ministries was blessed by a kind donation of a "booth" or stand during this event. Our new banners were up, and we had EM's embroidered tablecloth and shirts with our new logo. There were more than 200 Hispanic pastors and leaders at the convention event; many came by to learn about Encuentro Ministries. We also got to reconnect with many "old" friends. We launched the "icareformypastor" challenge and gave out hundreds of bracelets. Did you see the bracelets on EM's home page sidebar? Find out more about this challenge and order them for your church, small groups, friends, and for yourself. Take the challenge to care for your pastor. To learn more visit: http://www.encuentroministries.com/home1.htm We also got to visit our friends/brothers/sisters of Iglesia Bautista de Washington (now in Maryland). Dario preached at a dinner event and introduced Encuentro Ministries. We thank the Dominguez family and Arce families for caring for us in special ways during our DC visit.
Bob Crandall is doing better!
Thanks for your prayers. Our brother and member of EM's board of directors, Bob had heart surgery this past Tuesday. We thank God for his recuperation, slow but in the Lord's hands. Please continue to pray for Bob and his wife Lois.
Thanks! --¡Gracias!
In the last few weeks God has put various people and businesses that have lent a friendly hand to EM's directors, Miriam & Carlos Peralta. In Indiana, Bob Cradall (http://www.rjcrandallassociates.com/) provided generous resources that made this Internet site possible, and Karen Failor of SCCC (http://www.ccawebs.net/) laboriously worked to create EM's website. In Miami FL, Samuel Rodríguez and his father the Rev. Dr. Antonio Rodríguez have been instrumental so that Encuentro Ministries would have quality brochures and prayer cards. In Orange City FL, Manny Delgado who owns Maranatha Auto Repair (386) 775-8326, took it upon himself to put our mini-van, which already has over 150,000 miles, in condition for our long trips from Florida to New Jersey, DC, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania over the next two months. In Pennsylvania, Fred Jones of MarshCreekSigns (http://www.marshcreeksigns.com/) helped us greatly so that we would have some pretty awesome banners. Victor Rey from Wristband Connection (http://www.wristbandconnection.com/) in Texas, offered his experience and service to us in making the ICAREFORMYPASTOR wristbands in a timely manner. To all of them, a huge thanks for your help. Your contribution to this ministry helps us to be able to continue offering pastoral care, training, and resources for those in ministry with Hispanics.
Father’s Day in Passaic, NJ
Well, our summer "tour" has begun! Not really, we have been on the road for quite a while, and summer doesn't officially begin until June 21st. A big thanks for those of you who are praying for us, our vehicle, and for "the road". This past Sunday the 17th, we celebrated Father's Day in PASSAIC, NJ, with brothers and sisters of the Iglesia Bautista de Passaic. We've had the privilege of knowing Pastor Erwin Izeppi and his wife Estela for some years now. They began leading this particular church just 3 months ago. Miriam had the opportunity to share on the importance to care for our leaders, and Carlos Dario preached. The worship, time outdoors, and good food was spectacular. God gave us a wonderful day. We are grateful to God for allowing us to "walk" with this couple, and for allowing us to be of support to their pastorate.
